Jason said: “Butchery is a great career for young people, particularly if you like being active and creating things with your hands – and it’s taken me further than I ever thought possible!
“I’m an apprentice butcher at Littlers Butchers, Hartford, and attend Reaseheath for my training. Thanks to the support and extra tuition I received, I was a national medal winner in the butchery finals at WorldSkills UK LIVE.
“I was then selected to represent Team GB at the World Butchers’ Challenge in California, USA. Sadly the competition was cancelled due to Covid-19, but hopefully it will go ahead in 2021. When competing you have to show a range of craft skills, all of which I’ve been taught at college and use daily.”
